KINGSVILLE I.S.D.’s POLICY ON SCHOOL SAFETY
The No Child Left Behind Act [P.L. 107-110, Section 9532] requires the state to establish and implement a policy requiring that students be allowed to attend a safe public elementary or secondary school within the LEA. The option to transfer to another school within the LEA must be provided to any student who
- attends a persistently dangerous public elementary school or secondary school, as defined by the state, or
- who becomes a victim of a violent criminal offense while in or on the grounds of a public elementary school or secondary school that the student attends.
